Some tiny town in nowhereville is having a decidedly heinous Christmas in July to boost revenue and Sam, raw still from his brother's death, is hunting something that's working its way through the tacky event, scaring the bejesus out of people. Upon job well done, Sam gets plastered, starts a fight, and unloads about what passed for good holiday memories with Dean. And Ruby has to deal with him. Word count: 1-5K. Written Dec 2009. ratherastory: her beloved Fusion!verse depicts a future wherein the boys are retired from hunting because Dean has a permanent leg injury and Sam has come back from hell with some degree of brain damage.... When they're ready to go back home Jared and the kids are threatened by an armed man--who takes the money, the presents, and unexpectedly shoots Jared and one of the kids.
