Fevered Ramblings:

Who's Hurting Sam or Jared Lately?

• cherry916 has discovered a gem that she'd like to share with us all. Invisible Line by TiTivillus. Summary: Cole's first mistake was going after Dean. His second mistake- the one that would cost him his life- was hurting Sammy. cherry916 says, "I have to say this story is a lot better than I was originally expecting it to be! Nice build up, great characterizations, and of course, epic protective Dean we know and love". It is a gen story and features some graphic torture and Dean whump.


• ayane42 has discovered a couple of new stories for us to check out this month. The first one is On The 5th day of March by bflyw. Summary: Jensen is the owner of the local pastry shop. Jared is a student at the local college. This is the story of how he becomes both Jensen’s employee and boyfriend, and how he has a secret he keeps from Jensen. She says, "This was a very emotional story. Reading about the way Jared suffers through this illness is so heartbreaking. I really felt for Jared." This is a slash fic and is available to download at AO3.


• ayane42's second discovery is Warped by framedhim. Summary: Through endless moves, personal grief, and career highs and lows, Jared and Jensen have built a solid relationship. What happens in the aftermath of one seemingly random interaction will change their lives forever. She says, "Wow, this is a great story! I love the way it starts - describing the simple ups and downs of their lives and then, bam! Everything suddenly changes and it becomes a roller coaster ride that's scary and intense." This has been written for the wonderful spn_reversebang challenge. It's also available to download, as it is on AO3. Be sure to check out the warnings.


• For fans of K.Hanna Korossy's episode tags, harrigan suggests you check our her latest offering Fake it Till You Wake It. Summary: Adventures in Babysitting missing scene: Brother tends to brother, physically and emotionally, and in so doing ends up helping himself, too. So, the usual. harrigan says, "Fans will be happy to wallow in another of her short-but-so-satisfying missing scenes where Dean tends Sam's wounds, and that begins to heal the emotional scars between them too".


• harrigan enjoyed a recent spn_masquerade fill by zubeneschamali called Exile. Summary: Jared's been sent away from everything and everyone he's ever known for something that isn't even his fault. But what else could be done with someone who's suddenly a threat to all of the other Enhanced? All of the others except one, that is…. harrigan says, "Zuben always delivers the goods. Fascinating world-building, creative ideas, and this time, some steamy comfort to counter the hurt!"

• cherry916 was browsing the spn_kinkmeme recently and came across this gem - Pleasure Slave (eta: posted here on LJ). It's by idofmarch. Summary: Time and kindness bring Jared to trust Jensen, and care for him, and bring Jensen to realize just how much he's overlooked how wrong this system is. She says, "This is a heartbreaking little fic about Jared being born into the life of a slave and Jensen receiving him for his birthday. You're gonna love the character development in this fic." Warning for slavery and non-con/dub-con undertones and mentions of underage.


• ayane42 wants to share Lone Wolf by morganaDW. Summary: Lone Wolf. Exile. Outsider. Alpha. Jensen Ackles had been called all of these since walking away from his pack years ago. Since leaving, he kept to himself but couldn’t shake his childhood dreams of big eyes and strange symbols. These images continued to haunt him and eventually drew him back to his home state. Jared Padalecki grew up dreaming of a silver wolf; he somehow knew it was ‘his’ wolf, his Alpha, but he grew up isolated and alone, believing he would never find this wolf. Raised by cruel grandparents to fear and hide a side of himself he knew nothing about, he struggled to remain unmated even though that was unheard of for an Omega. ayane42 says, "This is a great story about Jensen and Jared finding each other as mates, despite their pasts. Very compelling reading - I couldn't put this story down! Lots of hurt and angsty Jared!" This is on AO3, so it's available to download.

• art: If you haven't discovered KamiDiox's gorgeous artwork you must check it out! cherry916 recommends you take a look at Let Me Take Care of You. She says, "Her little cartoons are always a source of amusement for me and this one is certainly no different. This is set around 8x21 and of course stubborn Sam does not want to be mother-henned but Dean has other plans." Adorable!
